I love cookies! I love eating them. I love making them. I love the taste of them. I love how they smell when they come right out of the oven. I get excited just thinking about cookies

When I was in high school, I went on a missions trip to Guadalajara, Mexico during spring break with students from our church youth group.

A few months ago, I had the privilege of enjoying an evening of conversation and Thai food with J.R. Woodward. We met at his place in Hollywood (see picture I took from his window) – and then headed down the street to eat.

To be a disciplemaker 1) you have to be with Jesus, and 2) you have to be with lost people. Here’s the incredible wisdom of Jesus disciplemaking strategy – what He did with His disciples is what He expected them to do with others. He called them to follow Him, and He expected them to call others to follow Him.

The best book I read in 2006 was The Externally Focused Church by Rick Rusaw and Eric Swanson.

How can you embody the gospel where you live? How can Christian men join together to “be Jesus” to others?

Christ’s strategy was disciplemaking! He invested in a few men, calling them to be with Him, grounding them in the truth of the gospel. Why? He invested in them so that when He returned to heaven, they would continue the work that He had begun.

In its essence “Missional Living” is simply about “embodying the mission and message of Jesus.” As followers of Jesus, we ought to seek to “be Jesus to everyone everywhere.”
