My friend Chris Fukunaga planted a village community in Long Beach, California. He was one of the presenters at our first Missional Leaders Summit in March 2006.

What did Jesus do? Since incarnating the gospel is about being Jesus, believers have to be good followers of Jesus. They have to learn from Jesus. They have to imitate Him.

Engaging the culture around you with the gospel can be a struggle. Deciding that you are a “missionary” right where you live doesn’t automatically result in effective engagement with those around you.

“The Bible doesn’t command us to be baptized, but to be baptizers.”

Recently I listened to a message by my friend Dan Harty (Windsor Community Church)

Where you stand determines what you see. If you and I are going to be missionaries right where we live, it’s important for us to see the neighborhoods in our city through God’s eyes.

Make cookies or other baked goods with a caring note for a neighbor.

Do you see yourself as a missionary in your neighborhood? Do you intentionally seek to build relationships with non-Christians? Do you actively embody the mission and message of Jesus

I really was blessed by the interactions and instruction in early October at the Missio Intensive in Pasadena, California. It was great to reconnect with old friends and also to connect with new friends.
