Church is not a destination. It’s not somewhere Christians go to worship God and listen to great preaching! We often refer to our campus as our “church.” Sometimes we invite people to go to “church” with us.
Wow! I love the stimulation that comes from reading and listening to Michael and Alan. I first met Alan last December and we had a great conversation over breakfast.
I really was blessed by the interactions and instruction in early October at the Missio Intensive in Pasadena, California. It was great to reconnect with old friends and also to connect with new friends.
We expect the members in our church to be able to articulate the Gospel. In fact, many times we use this to “verify” that someone is really a Christian. If someone claims to be a Christian but they can’t verbalize the essential truths of the Gospel message, does that mean that they aren’t saved?
What is the essence of the Church?
