Michael Frost & Alan Hirsch

The Shaping of Things to Come

Wow! I love the stimulation that comes from reading and listening to Michael and Alan. I first met Alan last December and we had a great conversation over breakfast. At that point, I had just begun to read The Shaping of Things to Come and I really connected with the concepts about incarnational/ missional activity. I find myself getting excited about the church when we abandon the idea that we must “create sanctified spaces into which unbelievers must come to encounter the gospel.” I get excited about being the church which engages the culture – which “disassembles itself and seeps into the cracks and crevices of a scoiety in order to be Christ to those who don’t yet know Him.” (p. 12
