What a beautiful sunset to end today!

As I watched the Olympics this past week, I am continually stunned by the sheer determination and keen discipline of Olympic athletes. I’m amazed not only by those who finish first and receive the gold, but also by every single person who competes in the games.

What thoughts does this trigger for you as you engage those in the culture around you with the good news of Jesus?

I got a new book in the mail yesterday and I haven’t read it yet. When I open up a new book I like to thumb through the table of contents and flip through the chapters to get more familiar with how it’s structured before I jump in and start reading.

A couple of years ago my One Challenge USA team took a retreat together for a few days. Our colleague from Outreach Canada, Alan Simpson, facilitated our time together. I was so grateful for the time that Alan invested in preparing for the retreat.

“If the boat misses the harbor, it’s seldom the harbor’s fault.”

Looking at the pile of used ballet shoes in my daughter’s room brings the realization that I would never be able to spend a day in her shoes. Then I look at her feet and I see how brutal dancing has been on each one. It’s amazing to me what dancers endure!

I’ve been tweeting off and on for awhile now. I don’t have a big following so far – about 800 or so people. And I’m approaching about 2,000 tweets now.
