[featured_image]When Jesus sent His disciples to make disciples, He actually expected them to do what He said. He expected them to obey!
He actually trained them to make disciples and sent them to make disciples. And He expected them to make disciples.
That’s what I love about reading the book of Acts! We actually see the disciples making disciples. First in Jerusalem and then beyond!
Jesus was a disciplemaker! If you are following Jesus, you will be a disciplemaker.
Often when I coach leaders I will ask them:
What result would you like to take away from our coaching conversation today?
I allow them to set the agenda for the conversation and I invite them to set the outcomes from our conversation.
I wonder what Jesus would tell you if you were to ask Him:
What result would you like to see from my life today?
I think many Christians would expect Jesus to say something like this…
- “Love one another as I have loved you.”
- “Be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect.”
- “Abide in Me.”
- “Let your light shine before men.”
- “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.”
- “Go and sin no more.”
There are a lot of things that Jesus may expect from His followers. I think Jesus might say to me…
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” (Mt 28:18) or, “Follow Me and I will make you fishers of men.” (Mt 4:19)
I think Jesus actually expects His disciples to be making disciples!
The outcome of following Jesus is doing what Jesus did – making disciples!
Today’s Missional Challenge
