At the end of December 1984 I attended the Urbana Missions Conference sponsored by Intervarsity. It was a life changing experience for me as I gathered together with thousands of college-age adults who felt God’s call on their lives to engage those beyond the reach of the gospel message. For me personally, the speakers, workshops, conversations, prayer times, and worship together sharpened my focus and commitment toward church planting. At that time, I knew little about church planting; yet I knew that God was calling me to be involved in starting churches.
Two years later I spent the summer in the Philippines on a missions trip and I had the opportunity to serve alongside two Filipino pastors who had started churches. This experience focused my attention toward training nationals to start new churches. I didn’t know where God was calling me. I just knew that I was to be training nationals to start churches.
Now, more than twenty-five years later I am fully engaged in assessing, training and coaching church planters! This is the focus of my life. My mission field is the United States and my mission is to accelerate multiplication movements across the US and beyond!
How is God calling you?
How are you aligning your life with His mission?
Where is your mission field?
In 2011, I was blessed to assess, train and coach over 100 leaders to start new churches! God continues to provide opportunities to partner together with churches, denominations and networks to fuel the multiplication of disciples and churches that change our world. As 2012 begins, I invite you to pray with me that God would allow me to equip over 250 workers to start new churches by making disciples!
