I love to share what God is doing through His missionary people. Here’s a great story from Venture Church in Bozeman, Montana.
Last Sunday was our Serve the City Sunday and I have to brag a little. We decided to serve Irving Elementary School this time around as they are one of the poorest schools in our district. The Principal and Janitor where overwhelmed and very surprised that a church would want to help them and do it with no strings attached. This gave us a great opportunity to under promise and over perform. The Principal and Janitor have been working everyday for years trying to get the school in the condition it should be in. However, with just the two of them, it is way to much to handle. We went in this weekend and painted the entire basement of the school and two of the stair wells that were an ancient orange. We repainted all of their metal playground equipment, raked over a gazillion leaves (I think that is a pretty close count), cut down a couple trees and trimmed several others. By the time we were done, the school was looking AWESOME!!!
I think the Principal and Janitor had a hand painted picture of paint marks up and down the hallways and handprints on all the lockers with a church doing all the work, so we made sure to clean the whole school until in shined. When they came in early Monday morning there was no cleanup necessary and the place was looking great. The best part about the whole day was the number of people that showed up to help serve. Including kids we had right at 100 volunteers who showed up to work and help cook meals for people in need. While we were working, several of the ladies made 64 meals to give away to people in need! I love seeing the body of Christ at work! It is so beautiful when it works together!
Thank you so much for all your prayers. Keep praying that we would keep the mindset of missionaries and continue to strive to serve our community to the best of our ability. We are so blessed to have so many wonderful prayer warriors like yourself lifting us up and supporting us. Thank you so much for all you do! We couldn’t do it without you! Have an incredible week and God bless you!
So blessed,
Charley, Katie, Faith, Grace and Asher
