Neither failure nor hostility can weaken the messenger’s conviction that he has been sent by Jesus. That his word may be their strength, their stay and their comfort, Jesus repeats it.

I have always loved this concept from Wolfgang Simson’s Houses that Change the World (p. 294).
“The church is seen as essentially missionary.
It seems like Christians are always wanting to fix the church and make the church better. I’m not convinced that the church is all that God designed her to be yet, however, I’m confident that Jesus is still at work as He said He would – “I will build My church.”
God’s church falters from exhaustion because Christians erroneously think that God has given them a mission to perform in the world. Rather, the God of mission has given his church to the world.
“When the church is in mission, it is the true church. The church itself is not only a product of that mission but is obligated and destined to extend it by whatever means possible. The mission of God flows directly through every believer and every community of faith that adheres to Jesus.
I really was blessed by the interactions and instruction in early October at the Missio Intensive in Pasadena, California. It was great to reconnect with old friends and also to connect with new friends.
