I continue to emphasize the need for church planters to focus on multiplying disciples before they actually start services. A good analogy for this is making cookies rather than designing cookie jars. (Read post here.)
Recently, a church planter told me that they had their first baptism – several weeks before they’ve actually started public worship gatherings.
He told me – “It’s our first cookie from scratch.”

If you’re not making any cookies, you really don’t need a cookie jar.
