God has determined when and where you live!
“From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live.” – Acts 17:26
Do you realize that your address is determined by God and is strategic in His eyes?
How does that reality impact the way you view and appreciate the community in which you live?
You can’t reach everyone in your county, state or nation with the gospel, but you can take responsibility to do your part to reach everyone in the community where God has placed you to live. To do this effectively, it is often helpful to identify yourown…
Circle of Accountability – the specific geographic area for which you will take responsibility before God to embody the gospel to every man, woman and child.
Circle: this is a generic term to indicate the place God has placed you to fulfill His mission. In won’t necessarily be exactly circular in shape – but it’s a defined area that will help you focus.
Accountability: identifying your circle produces a sense of responsibility before God to both demonstrate and declare His love. It focuses your heart and actions toward those God has placed around you.
By identifying your Circle of Accountability, you will find yourself praying for those within your circle with greater intensity. You’ll be eager to get to know people living around you. You’ll look for ways to serve them and “be Jesus” to them.
DAY 12 ACTION STEP: Draw a Map of Your Community
- Draw a map of your community including major highways, streets, businesses, schools, parks, natural boundaries, landmarks, and places people connect.
- Plot your “circle of accountability” on your map.
- Add details – residential areas, other churches, where you live, etc.
- Pray for your community…
- Thank God for this area where He has called you to live
- Ask God to reveal His love through you (and other believers) to your circle.
Day 12 Missional Challenge: Identify the strategic geographic area where God has placed you to embody His mission. Take responsibility to bring the love of Jesus to every neighborhood around you.
