It’s over now. The 31 Day Take the Missional Challenge blog series has come to an end. Now what? Where do you go from here?
In my experience, the gospel travels across relationships. Over and over as I have asked people how they came to put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ, I’ve heard them say that God used a caring friend to lead them to Jesus.
As you consider ongoing actions that are aligned with Jesus’ mission – Build friendships with unbelievers near you.
Too many Christians don’t have any non-Christian friends. So focus on being friendly. Invest in building friendships with those who don’t know Christ.
In Six-Word Lessons to Discover Missional Living, I suggest Five Ways to Build Friendships:
1. Hospitality – invite people over
2. Help – meet genuine needs
3. Hobbies – do fun stuff together
4. Hangouts – go where they go often
5. Habits – connect through routine contact
BONUS DAY 1 ACTION STEP: Be Friendly
- Consider the friendships you have with non-Christians
- Choose one friend to “be friendly” with this week
- Do something together
- That’s it – build the friendship
Bonus Day 1 Missional Challenge: Be friendly! Build your friendships with unbelievers.
