When talking about credibility he writes,” Unless you are continually improving your skills, you’re quickly becoming irrelevant. And when you’re irrelevant, you’re no longer credible.” (p 98)

For church planters, credibility is vital. Without credibility, no one will trust your leadership. No one will follow you.

Unless you pursue the right skills and training to plant a church, you will lack credibility as a church planter. You might have integrity and good motives, but without the skills necessary to start a new church, you will never be credible.

If you want to be credible as a church planter – develop the capabilities necessary!

Ask yourself…

  • What capabilities do I have as a church planter that make me credible and that inspire the trust and confidence of others?
  • What experiences have I had in developing my capabilities as a church planter that affect the confidence I have in myself?
  • What could I do this week (or this month) to improve my capabilities as a church planter?
