The Global Church Planting Network has been established to link key church planting mobilizers and coordinators to collaborate in accelerating church planting globally.
The purpose of the GCPN is to promote and accelerate intentional church planting of all kinds (especially SCP & CPM), so that we see Christ-like communities of believers among all the peoples, languages, nations, cities, and villages of the world, resulting in transformed communities.
Three decades ago approximately half of the world’s population was outside the reach of the church or living in unreached people groups, but today just one third are outside the influence of the church. We are now living in an amazing era with a great desire and hope of completing the Great Commission in our generation, particularly through strategic saturation church planting (SCP) and indigenous church planting movements (CPM). We are passionate about the role of the church in God’s mission and desire to see churches established within the language groups and social structure of every village, town, strata of society and people group of every nation – churches which transform every aspect of individuals, families, communities, peoples, and nations!
Fifteen church planting leaders representing 9 organizations from 6 major regions of the world met in England February 12-14, 2009 to reflect and seek the Lord’s direction for the future of global church planting. This initiative was birthed during this consultation.
We aim to focus on every region of the world, have a flexible approach and respect all forms of church planting including SCP, CPM, Pioneer CP, cell church, house church, simple church etc.
Gathering in Istanbul, March 23-25, 2011
This strategic meeting is focused on the development of 15 regional teams to resource national church planting leaders in as many countries as possible. Over seventy-five participants are uniting together to accelerate church planting among the least-reached peoples of the world, sharing resources for greater effectiveness.
Today I purchased my plane ticket to join my OC colleagues and dozens of national leaders for this strategic meeting!
