Jesus commanded His disciples to make disciples — which includes “teaching to obey.” How do you teach to obey all that Jesus commanded?
When the church is in mission, it is the true church. The church itself is not only a product of that mission but is obligated and destined to extend it by whatever means possible. The mission of God flows directly through every believer and every community of faith that adheres to Jesus. To obstruct this is to block God’s purposes in and through his people.
“Missions is not first and ultimate; God is. …All of history is moving toward one great goal, the white hot worship of God and his Son among all the peoples of the earth. Missions is not that goal. It is the means. And fro that reason it is the second greatest human activity in the world.”
And they became very much afraid and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him.” Mark 4:41Wow! Did you catch that? Even the wind and sea obey Him!
